What is emerging -- what is the right way to understand this question of "the transcendent unity of religions"?
More or less the answer:
- Clearly, there are great differencves among the religious and spiritual traditions. However, there are also similarities
- What we are looking for is a way to build cooperation and chared understanding among exissting traditions -- and if there are people who are attracted to some emerging new kind of "universal spirituait", we should be ablet o accomodate them
- What we need is a psychological or "ontological" model that can contain the full diversity and potential of the human mind, spanning all the differences that are observable in the world religions. There are wide differences -- and these differences reflect choices and intentions and desired objectives.
