Definition / description
Discussions in ontology and semantics are commonly approached with the understanding that the subject is controversial, that "scholars do not agree", and that there is no one single dominant point of view. This is for many reasons, and it is understandable - but what is needed today is a comprehensively inclusive appraoch to the problem of semantic structure, that recognizes competing perspectives, acknowledges their contribution, and incorporates that contribution in a more broadly inclusive model.
