American philosophic writer Ken Wilber has pioneered the concept of "Integral" as essential to an emerging new philosophy of wholeness and inclusion. He has proposed many new ideas, including the phrase "Transcend and Include" which suggests the gradual evolutionary development of increasing levels of abstraction and wholeness in collective thinking.
His first book was entitled "The Spectrum of Consciousness" and this Closed Loop project is built on a similar kind of spectrum. His second book was entitled "No Boundary", and his ideas on boundaries are illuminating and insightful, and this Closed Lop project follows several of his basic ideas.
He has proposed a general cognitive/epistemic model of thinking that he calls "AQAL" -- for "All Quadrants, All Levels".
