I am inspired by Mike Bergman's article on Hierarchy, and would like to explore the development of a database project or framework to list all of its aspects in a way that accounts for all issues and all perspectives.
Maybe this project could be collaborative in some ways -- take submissions from various sources, what are the issues, points of view, historical references, psychological models
right now, for me, it's looking like "hierarchy" is kind of a soft general-purpose cognitive tool that takes many approximiately similar forms adapted to many interrelated purposes -- all of which, I am guessing, need to be defined or understood in the contexte of special-case moment-specific definitions -- it's never the same, it's always adaptive, it's always fluent, it does not depend on the same words meaning the same things every time
