Part 3 - 1
The Waters of Life
You have crossed many places to arrive here. Welcome, and congratulations. Well done. By accomplishing the first two levels of SelfCom exploration, you are becoming the pilot of your moment. You navigate the River of Life by your increased awareness of it. You cannot stop the flow, but you can choose your position as you pass through it. You are where your attention is. It is that simple. By assuming this role, you accept the priority of learning how to control your attention, and therefore your position in the river of Life.
SelfCom is a tool. It cannot change your life unless you use it. It can only present concepts. Any changes made by applying SelfCom procedures must come from you. The user of the tool supplies all of the life to the tool. The tool, without life, will, or desire of its own, comes alive only when it is being used.
This is actually a rather delightful concept if you expand upon it a bit. When you use a tool, any tool anywhere... in thought, body, or in the world, you give some of your life to it. You are required to do this to make it do what you want it to do. The life that you give it makes it do its job. You give your life to the tool (for the time you are using it) and in return, the tool gives to you what you want from it.
This idea of "giving your life to something" is important and should be understood. People tend to look at life-giving kinds of activity as being something unspoken. Everyone does it, but few actually have a look at it. Most fail to realize that life sharing is what makes everything run. It is impossible to "not give" life, and "not receive" life, as you live. You give a part of your life to everything that catches your attention, and you get a part of its life whenever you accept it. In fact, the more of your attention you give to something, the more of your life you give to it... and the more experience you will receive from it.
This does not diminish you. You grow in this. As with all activity in the River of Life, there are two kinds of growth. You find that the life you share grows outwardly in the form of your expression, and inwardly in the form of experience.
To look at it on the surface, the idea of life sharing seems abstract. Life sharing is actually a simple thing that you do all of the time. The idea has just been mislabeled. Sharing life is often referred to as practice, but it is not the practice that produces the experience, it is the growth caused by the sharing of Life. As you share your life into the things you see around you, your life receives experience from them. It grows and takes shape accordingly. Those who tout the powers of visualization have correctly observed that ability can be increased without physical practice. This observation is just the skin of what you are learning right now. Conscious life sharing allows you to take a whole fresh look at what goes into getting what you want.
If you imagine that you give your life into to a tool as you use it, you have the head for getting into your Level Three experience. When you use Skillcraft on something, you are consciously giving your life into it. Now, this does not mean that you dedicate the rest of your living days to the thing. Such an objective would be impractical anyway. It simply means that you have your being& your Presence& where your attention is. As you do something in the practice of Skillcraft, you hold the thought that you stand before it with everything you have. When you are completely aware of what is before you, with eager intent to make something happen in the best possible way, and when you act quickly and do your best upon every opportunity that presents itself, you are mastering Skillcraft.
In SelfCom, when you do something with the intent of causing change, combined with the intent to do well, you are practicing Skillcraft. It does not matter, in this context, what it is you are doing. It can be anything. It is not so much a question of what you are doing. It is only important that you are practicing Skillcraft on something as much as possible.
If you apply diligent Skillcraft to your life, it will not be long before you notice that experience is a quantity determined not by time, but by how much life you put into what you are doing. Remember always that putting your life into what you do does not diminish you. It empowers you. The more life you give, the more your life grows. You give life from an unending and unlimited Source... Now, if you are using Skillcraft on something that rends or diminishes, it will appear that you lose life as you share it. This negative effect of life sharing is powerful knowledge. If you feed negative thoughts, they will gain in power. Observing what you share your life with is an excellent tool for cleaning up those minor hassles and recurring disasters that seem to happen on their own. Putting your life into something that entraps you, or weakens you, or minimizes you, sets up a condition that is most uncomfortable. Make sure that you share only the kind of life that you want to experience.
Most people think that it takes a long time, with a lot of practice, to get anywhere with inner development. In SelfCom, you will not be burdened with a timetable. Focus more appropriately upon how much life you have put into what you are doing, and what methods you have used. These two factors, the amount of life you put into something, and the methods you use to do it, are the bulk of the issue when it comes to acquiring new or different knowledge, friends, experience or objects. Time is not connected to this at all in a direct way. It takes "as long as it takes".
As you imbibe the life within you, the life within you becomes more clear. Living reveals life, if living is done consciously. That is the essence of Skillcraft.
Sometimes life is like a river. It moves with a definite direction. Other times it is more like a sea, surging and tossing without apparent direction. In either case, it is easiest to explain it as waters. There are currents, waves and rapids. You have the shallows and the deep.
Level Three deals with the waters of Life in their aspect as a river. There is a knack to perceiving life as a form of liquid. Level Three is focused on developing this knack. During the Level Three period of exploration it is essential that you begin the process of looking at your life as being a liquid. This is a very deep concept. It deals with waters of different thickness, or viscosity. It deals with the waters of life, as they are involved in local currents and patterns. You may follow this concept as deeply as your intellect cares to sustain as you live Level Three. But it is not really necessary to get very technical about it. This is about how to play in the water. It is not a chemistry lesson. Still, the waters are sort of a new concept, and some orientation is good to get things started on the right foot.
To view life as a liquid you have to make a little adjustment in the way you run time. This dreaded word, "time", has put people off for a long time (ha ha). Things are not going to get complicated with time in SelfCom. For the purposes of SelfCom exploration, time is the way you parse your day. Parsing is breaking things up into useful or recognizable pieces. Take it from a practical standpoint: When you wake up in the morning, time begins. This is not universal time or cosmic time or anything else. This is the fact that when you open your eyes at the start of your day, you begin your day. This is not world time, or father time, or anything abstract at all. This is your time. Let other people worry about their own time. You have yours to contend with. Look at that in SelfCom. So: You start your day... You start your time each day, and your parsing starts. You begin breaking the whole of the day into little pieces. You start by getting up. Then you do whatever is next. You take a wash perhaps, or food, or work, or whatever you do. You know what it is. You break your day into little steps or mini tasks, and away you go. People tend to obliviously string these pieces on a line, loosely at times, and at the end of the day they go to sleep again. This is rather normal for most people, even if they never bothered to look at it that way. Oblivious living is not swimming in the waters of life. These people are adrift, and at the mercy of whatever conditions they encounter.
Swimming in the River of Life requires that you make a small and very subtle change in the way you look at your day. You do not have to change what you do, unless you want to. All you have to change is the way you look at what you do. This is not something you would necessarily want to do all of the time. You can do as much as you want, but in Level Three, all that is necessary is that you do it at least once every two hours or so.
Here is the mission: You are going to swim in the waters of Life. Become aware of the fact that you are indeed immersed in Living waters. As with all skills in SelfCom exploration, you make use of your imagination to swim in the waters of Life.
This exercise is the opposite perspective to the one conveyed by life in modern society. Modern social and psychological conditioning has you always on the inside looking out. You are isolated in your own inner experience of body, feelings, mind and whatever. Everything that happens in the "real world" is outside you. Pitiful.
In swimming the waters of Life, you look at your experience from the perspective of being immersed in your life stream. You have the understanding that you are not a body, but a special kind of vibrating fluid. You do not have the shape of arms and legs and torso, you have an undefined shape that changes all of the time. Further, you are immersed in a vibrating fluid that sustains you. You are a fluid vibration within a fluid vibration. The two mix to a degree, but the Life waters at your core are very fixed. Nothing you see as outside you can change them without your consent.
It is a reach to do this mission. You must refer to your presence in a different way. You accomplish this by beginning with a simple exercise. Imagine frequently that you are what happens to you. In other words, put yourself in the place of what you experience. If you are in the shower, imagine that you are the water as it falls across your body. Imagine being the soap as it washes your skin. If you are walking, see your journey from the path's perspective, or as your happy shoes, joyfully fulfilling their function. Look at your own point in the day from the perspective of the objects around you.
Make sure you remain attentive during this time. Remain alert. Remain responsible for the things that you are doing. This is a marvelous material for Skillcraft improvement. Go in little steps. Use it to expand your awareness. Journal some of your observations.
There are two definite things to do:
Second, you are using Skillcraft on your awareness at that time. If you are in the shower, shower better than you ever have before. If you are working, work as perfectly as you can. If you are playing, play completely.
Maintain a watch on both of these skills. If you become unaware of your activities, as you perceive yourself through the objects around you, stop the exercise and simply be aware of what you are doing in the accustomed way. Do it carefully and strive to extend the time that you can knowingly, and in complete control of your actions, imagine yourself from the perspective of the objects around you.
It is not necessary in Level Three exploration to identify yourself in this manner with other people or animate things. That is deeper water. You need to know how to swim before you go there by yourself. Stay in the shallow water during Level Three. This is supposed to be fun anyway. Enjoy it for that. Use objects. Let plants, animals, people and other beings go their own way, in their own waters and time. Stick with just plain old "things" for now.
Once you have the skill of external self-perception, you can begin to get a concept of what the waters of life are, and what swimming is. It is an accumulative process. It centers around the idea that you have a body of living liquid. It is your attention. As a body, it has a type of form. It is not a shape, because the shape of a liquid is continuously a variable. The form of you, as living water, is more of a structure. It is your beliefs that shape it. Imagine clearly the watery form of your attention. At the center are your convictions. Here is the core and the foundation of your living presence in the mortal universe. This is you, in a sense. This is the "mortal you" who knows and feels and lives in awareness of the physical universe. Your attention is connected to the "Interface" you use as an eternal being so you can have a mortal experience. Connected to your attention, extending as a seamless and natural flow, are the waters you share with the world around you.
This whole perspective could be called many things, and much has been written and discussed about this, but in SelfCom, none of it has any bearing at all. You are exploring. In this exploration you imagine the waters of life. By visualization you create a perception that reveals them. Any actual or "real" correspondence between what you experience in SelfCom and what is really true must be left up to your own judgment. All that is important here is that you skillfully imagine you are connected to the objects around you by liquid-like living-vibration consisting, for now, of feelings. Observe in this way as you spend your days of Level Three exploration.
As you advance in your ability to identify with the things around you, slow your thinking. Focus your attention as you get a glimpse of the underlying connection you have with them. This you find in the waters that you both share; the waters between you that blend and affect each other. Keep this very easy. It may seem like a complicated concept, but the practice is a breeze.
You are mixing new knowledge with old knowledge here. The new knowledge comes when you see yourself from the perspective of the things around you. You already know all about seeing the things around you from your personal perspective. Put the two together and you are swimming in the waters of Life.
Here, in the River of Life, you have that inner universe where you experience your environment and where your environment experiences you. Everything that happens outside is taken in before it is acted upon. The media of this exchange is made of the waters of Life. You are Living Water, and the objects also exist as a result of Living Water. You have an individual center that is very dense, and a fluffy periphery that blends in different ways with other things. Your own personal "fluffy periphery" goes with you wherever you go and blends with whatever you are exposed to. This process sets up a current that becomes your river, and your ride, in life. Your river is formed by where you go and what you do. The rivers you touch are in turn modified by your touching them. Each life interacts with all others to form the vast Sea that composes the Life of all Creation.
Only after you begin to see life as a river of living do you begin to understand what you can do in it. Give yourself as many opportunities as you can to experience the liquid-like living streams of vibration that connect you with the things around you. Your waters overlap with the waters of everything you come in contact with. The waters of your life blend during the time of the contact. If, as you pass an object, you give it no attention, or if your attention is brief and without major intent or opinion, your waters stay with you when you pass by. If, however, the object is one of your intent or desire (or Heat, if you are not free of it), then you will establish a connection with it, and a stream of waters will remain between you and the object as you pass. Imagine as you explore that all of this is true. Enjoy seeing little streams of life connecting you and the objects around you. Frolic in the freedom of being in, and composed of, living waters. Be free, at least in your imagination, from the restrictions of your physical body.
As you spend time in this form of perception, keep notes about it. Write about what you observe. Keep a record of how real it seems to you when you do this. Use this information to monitor making it as real as possible during the time of Level Three exploration.
Also, at least three times a day, direct your attention to the Frequency of Truth and connect with the pure living water of your Divine up-link. Use a quiet time, with eyes closed, to flood the Frequency of Truth with your waters. This is a visualization exercise. Use your imagination for this. Imagine you are filtering the waters of your life through the Frequency of Truth. Allow, in turn, the Frequency of Truth to return your waters back to you purified. Set up a sort of filter in this way. Just imagine a circulation of the waters of your life essence. Your water flows into the Frequency of Truth and returns to you renewed. For at least a minute, three times a day, flow the deepest waters of your life into the Frequency of Truth and receive them back clean and pure.
If your life is so hectic that you cannot get three quiet moments in a day, make a mission out of sneaking them. Outsmart your demanding day. Use your skills to snatch three moments a day so you can connect your waters to the Frequency of Truth and filter them. It does not have to take more than a minute, but you may notice that it actually feels very good, and leaves you energized and uplifted. It can be habit forming.
This is another Level Three skill that you should document in your journal. Strive for quality rather than quantity. You do not have to take a lot of time at this. Just practice the idea of making it seem as real as your imagination will allow.
