Part 4 - 3

Thought and Self Definition

You find yourself forever alive. From an Eternal perspective this is a simple and well-known truth. From the mortal perspective it is a discovery. Thus, a new world opens to any mortal who switches from automatic living to conscious living. This you have learned as you have developed your Skillcraft and ascended the first three levels of SelfCom.

You have seen relationships between what you do and how you feel. You have seen relationships between how you feel and what you do. In all of this, you have touched the waters of Life and discovered new ways of getting what you want. Now, in Level Four, you will explore your power and your value. Remove all preconceptions of what you think you are worth and what you think you are capable of. As you explore Level Four, discover yourself newly.

Imagine that you have just come upon this new aspect of your being... this creative force of Life... and you have no idea what it is. Explore with innocence. Explore in a free and light manner with no burdens from the past or worries for what is to come. Be free from all fear and guilt as you skip happily through the territory of Level Four.

The first new aspect of living-waters that shall be examined in Level Four exploration is the idea that a person can make things out of it. You accomplished the beginning of this as you explored getting what you want through the Frequency of Truth. You used your desire to determine the direction of exploration. In Level Four, a somewhat more analytical approach will be applied.

Have you ever imagined a thought as being a thing? This idea is unusual to most. Whether you have or not, think about it now. Thoughts are such a common part of our waking experience that barely a few even notice them at all in an analytical way. The thought-stream just churns away in the mind, sometimes in the foreground and sometimes in the background.

In SelfCom, you have worked with controlling the thought-stream. This is a very basic skill of your Inner exploration. It is like knowing how to look and move in the river of life. As you expand your consciousness to include the Life that everything shares, you will grow to control your thinking processes automatically.

In Level Four exploration, you will be goofing off a lot with thoughts, and your thought stream. There is a lot of new and exciting territory to explore here.

Remember the gauge you used in Level Two? You developed a sense of your inner waters as your day moves past. This is a very useful skill of self-awareness. Hopefully, this analysis of your life experience is still going on in one form or another. You used this gauge of your inner waters to determine how you were progressing in terms of your own personal satisfaction, or sense of right. Your inner feeling at any given moment is a very important factor in how your life experience comes to you. At this point you are looking at the very core of your waters. Here live your most basic beliefs and considerations. These waters are configured by the beliefs you have accumulated, the decisions you have made, and the methods you have produced to run your life.

All of this forms the core of "you" as a mortal. It is your inner system of beliefs. It is composed of thought-stuff. In other words, as far as your mortal experience is concerned, what you "think" you are, you are. It is true that other such statements have been made in other contexts. Some think you are what you eat. Some think you are what you have in the bank. Some think you are what you drive. All of this is true to one degree or another, but in SelfCom Level Four, you are what you think. Imagine yourself that way as you explore this level.

To assist you in imagining that you are what you think, some observations, and some Skillcraft will help. To begin with, take a look at just a simple thought... any thought. While a thought is an object, it is never isolated. All thoughts are connected to something. In fact, the interconnectedness of thoughts is a fundamental aspect of the very fabric of each person's life. Deep inside, you process your experience constantly. Each moment of your life is filtered through your own experience of what is happening. If you are experiencing things that you have experienced many times, it is possible, even likely, that this activity will become automatic to one degree or another& perhaps even subconscious. Once you have done something enough, you formulate a way to do it without even paying attention.

Here is a crucial point. Notice exactly what you use to make something automatic.

At first, each step has to be consciously done.

As the work becomes more familiar, you make a kind of model out of what has to be done.

After a while, as long as nothing unexpected happens, the model can do the work. You, the person, are not consciously attached to what your body is doing.

Driving is often automatic. Riding a bicycle is automatic. The same is true for talking, walking, reading, and many other things you do. These are all skills you have developed to a point where they can happen automatically.

Think about this for a while. Live in the concept. Make a list of all the things you notice yourself doing automatically. Beside each item on the list, write what "you" were "really" doing or thinking, or feeling while your actions were on automatic.

Do nothing with the information at this time, unless you see something that simply must be acted upon... Just take note and use it for reference later. It does not matter what you discover, just be objective and journal your observations.

The actual point of this is to notice the automatic part. Here you have the "mechanisms" you have built to live your life for you. These are of particular interest as you explore Level Four. Get your imagination ready, because you are about to take it out surfing again...

Imagine, if you can, that your ability to make things become automatic has become automatic. This is not really that much of a stretch. You have been learning so many things all of your life that you automatically assign things to be automatic. Do not be offended. Everyone does it. We all have to, just to keep a handle on the input we get from normal every-day living. Many automatic functions are very useful. It is a good thing, for example, that you do not have to remember to beat your heart all of the time. The same holds true for the rest of the body's mechanical functions. But in the River of Life, it is not always a good thing to automate everything. In fact, it can be a tremendous waste of life, power and fun.

Did you get a good list of things that you do automatically? How about those thoughts on what you are doing while your "models" do things automatically. Did you find in many cases that you are in sort of a "wait" mode? You are a bit too occupied to do something else altogether, but it is not demanding enough to engage you completely, so you just hang and wait while things get on?

This is a great environment for boredom to grow in. Are you bored sometimes??? Hmmm. Now, have a look here. If you are busy living your life, doing something, and you are bored... you are wasting your life, your power, and your joy. This need not be. In SelfCom, recycling is a totally valid method of acquiring power, life and joy. Indeed, that is basically the only way there is since you were given Eternal power in your creation. Now that you are using SelfCom Level Four, you can throw the old rules out the window. Nothing is taken for granted here.

Your task: Pick one activity that you do on a regular basis, which you usually do automatically. For the time of Level Four exploration, apply your Skillcraft to it, to your very best. Find something that you are not already practicing Skillcraft on. Get one that is a real regular part of your day. Make it something personal like washing your body or cooking or maintaining your home. Perform each movement of the task as if it were the first time in your life that you have ever attempted it. Forget that you have done it a million times. Imagine here. Do not fake it. Faking is not imagining. Faking is where you are there knowing that you are doing something that is not true. Imagining is where you assume a role. To a degree you actually become convinced of the reality you are imagining, if you imagine truly. Imagine it is all completely new. You are totally innocent of any knowledge whatsoever. Take each instance of your activity in a literal fashion. Do this every time you can for the whole period of Level Four exploration.

As you share your life with the activity that you used to do automatically, you will notice that your tendency is again to automate the process. If you keep on, and continue finding more and more to keep your activity vibrant and new, you will come to some sort of realization about what you are doing. At this time, you will hold up the whole activity for reexamination.

Be very aware of this point. It is directly connected to your personal power, life quotient, and your sense of well-being. You have found your way to the very center of the place that shapes your life experience. Here you have come to one of your basic Chunks. What is a basic Chunk? This is what you are about to discover. Chunks are really cool&

Part 4 - 4

Introduction to Chunks

"Chunk" is an intentionally general term because Chunks are the building blocks of the universe, and everything in it. Start by simply playing with the concept a little bit. Chunks are fun. Chunks are what make everything.

Remember that you considered your day as being "your time"? You equated your living experience with the passage of time. This is important to see and understand. Mortal life is expressed as events in space and time. Stay simple here. There is no need for your intelligence now, except to look as a child at any event and see it as being a Chunk of Life. If you eat a meal, the whole event can be seen as a Chunk of your day. If you tie a shoe, the event was a Chunk of your day. Every task that you complete becomes a Chunk of your life.

Notice that it is not a Chunk until it is complete. A Chunk is a whole thing. If it is reduced it is not what it was. If it is incomplete, it is not a Chunk. A Chunk is a thing complete. A Chunk is a unit of something. Like buttoning a shirt is a Chunk of getting dressed. Steering is a Chunk of driving. Think of, and journal, several Chunks that you can identify in your own life experience.

Each event you are a part of becomes a Chunk of your life to one degree or another. Some Chunks are big. Some are small. Some are so tiny they go unnoticed, yet often they turn out to be very significant. Chunks are the pieces of your life. They are not just dormant gobs. They are dynamic pieces of the time continuum of the universe! They have properties. They have dynamics. They are living pieces of Life! Science scares people with ideas like "quantum dynamics" because it all seems so abstract that there is no handle in it. But anyone can understand Chunks. Nothing is more pervasive. Chunks are not just "everywhere". Chunks ARE everywhere. Chunks are what "everywhere" is made of. They are all that can be seen in any way. Chunks compose the universe, and everything in it. Atomic vibration makes Chunks called atoms. Atoms make Chunks called minerals. Minerals compose the Chunks of living matter. Living matter combines to form Chunks of complex, or "high resolution" life experience. All of it is an expression of Life. One could say that every object (Chunk) and every event (Chunk) in creation is three things at the same time. Every object or an event can be seen:

" As a Chunk itself

" As being composed of Chunks

" As part of a larger Chunk

Chunks, being interconnected and composing the universe as a whole and everything in it, are a big subject if one cares to peruse it. But in Level Four, they are just Chunks. While the appearance of Chunks varies widely, infinitely even, the inner workings of them are basically the same. All Chunks are connected through other Chunks. The universe as a whole is the one Chunk that all other Chunks are a part of.

Your Level Four exploration will look at Chunks of a more personal nature. Cosmic Chunks will be left to fend for themselves for now. It is only necessary that you understand the "Chunk concept" enough to imagine that everything you encounter is a Chunk, and that all Chunks are connected, in their Chunky way, with all other Chunks. Use your imagination and information from the Frequency of Truth to fill in the details, if you wish. There is also a more complete disclosure of Chunks in Mapping the Unseen.

Chunks are not limited to purely physical things. Remember that Chunks are units of life experience. While massive Chunks like a planet, or something, represent the expression of life on a scale that you cannot yet completely see, other Chunks, of a more local and personal nature, can be readily observed and understood.

It is easiest to get the hang of Chunks on a personal level by looking at the Chunks that compose "you" in your mortal life. These Chunks are not at all abstract. There is no mystery in them. Your Chunks are composed of the experiences you have had thus far in your life. Like Chunks everywhere, your Chunks form together in layers. The core Chunks are the belief structures that uphold you, and that you uphold. You forged those beliefs out of the experiences of your life. Not just the physical experiences, in fact, those are just a small part of it. It is more the emotional, mental and Spiritual experiences that create the Chunks of your personality. What actual "physical experiences" you have been through are not as significant as how you have interpreted them.

So: In the case of the automatic activity that you are to observe in Level Four exploration???... The object of this is to get to your Chunks. You must be very careful about this. You are dealing with the foundation you live on. That is why Level Four exploration approaches the subject through examining some usual and automatic activity. It is good to linger at the periphery of this idea for a while before jumping in too far. You have yet to imagine even the tip of what you really are. Give yourself time to become more aware of the Inner Reality, and your role in it before you explore too far.

Chunks are the building blocks of the mortal "you". The person that you are being, right now, is the person you have accepted as "you". No matter if your choices have been of your own making, or if you have given that power to another, your personality is made of the experiences of your life, and the decisions you have made in response to them. Keep in mind here that these Chunks are not the Eternal You, created by your Source. That is a Chunk of a different kind. These Chunks are merely the pieces of your mortal personality that you have compiled into the image you have of "who you are" here in this mortal experience.

This re-introduces the concept of observing your automatic activity. Have a look at the process of things becoming automatic: When something new works right for a while, it stops being a sequence of events, and becomes a Chunk. If you are doing a new job, the first thing you do is learn what has to be done, and in what order. But if you are going to be repeating it a lot, you memorize the steps, and do them whenever you want to accomplish that task. During the time of memorization, you make any necessary changes to the sequence. After a time, all of the steps work, and the task becomes a single process. For example, to wash a car by hand, one has to get the hose, soap and pail, mix up some soapy water, scrub the car, rinse and dry the car, then put the stuff away. Each of these steps is an important part of the task, and beginners are always careful to do each task individually. After a time, however, it all just becomes "wash the car". The steps are all lumped into one Chunk... Notice this important fact: When the individual components of a process are taken together as a whole, the process becomes a Chunk.

This universal principal is the platform of all SelfCom exploration. SelfCom is a process of opening Chunks, rearranging their component parts, and putting them together again.

A lot of area has been covered in a short time, in Level Four. Within the pages of the Level Four material is embedded information that people have struggled for a lifetime to comprehend. Do not underestimate the significance of the material covered herein. Read it well and apply it until you are comfortable that all of the concepts you have learned so far are beginning to come together into a whole concept. When you are ready, begin your exploration of Level Five.
